Kay Jones > I had never seen bottle-brush plants until we traveled out West. The hummingbirds love them.
Kay Jones > We buried some of the driftwood on end so that the cats would have some to climb on. This also adds "verticality" to our landscaping.
Kay Jones > This is a photo of my heather bed, not feather bed, but heather bed. ;-) I chose orange and yellow heathers for this area with orange sedge or ornamental grass to give it some verticality. The log is a favorite scratching place for the cats. On the other end of the log, I planted some cat mint and catnip.
Kay Jones > This interesting piece of driftwood makes a great cat cave for hiding.
Kay Jones > I do miss the geraniums in the window boxes in Germany, so I planted some ivy geraniums in planters on the deck. The hummingbirds often visit these flowers. These geraniums are larger than the tiny window-box geraniums I saw in Europe in the summers.
Kay Jones > Ozzy, Shaggy, Ror, and Rocket wonder when their humans will open that door to the outside world. They are litter-mates. Thankfully, someone came along to adopt the other two kittens or we might have brought home the whole six-pack!
Kay Jones > Ozzy, Ror, and Rocket nap on the couch. Ozzy looks like our Harry Cat who died last summer, and Rocket looks like our Sadie Cat who lives in my office.
Kay Jones > We have been letting the cats go outside on sunny days to explore the backyard. From front to back: Ozzy, Rocket, and Shaggy on the sun circle playing with sticks. Ozzy was the last one to venture outside, but with much hesitation, he finally joined his litter-mates.
Kay Jones > That's Ror, King of the Tree. He is the first one so far to catch a bird. Tom was poud, and I was angry. He'll be a very confused cat!
I had never seen bottle-brush plants until we traveled out West. The hummingbirds love them.
